Great place in Hanalei town! Love the burger and hot fries! The hospitality and Aloha is exceptional!! Family owned business operated by locals. I recommend that everyone support this business. I would say it's the best burger in town. Many operated, including vegetarian. I love the thinly slices red onions on the burger and the Teri sauce. Delicious! And the water is so good!!! 🔥
This review is about so much more than the food. We were staying in Princeville when Hurricane Lowell hit Kauaʻi. The island was dealing with widespread power outages and significant damage, and when we were finally able to make our way to Hanalei a couple of days later, there was still no power. As we drove through town, we noticed people coming and going from Big Nick’s with hot food and drinks. Shout out to Big Nick and his beautiful ohana. His family welcomed us with open arms (and hearts) a couple days after the hurricane when they were having a family meal at the restaurant. We're just tourists that happened upon their open door and hospitality. The food was a welcome change from the peanut butter and jelly that we'd been having for a couple days but mostly it was the people, the beautiful island people and the experience that we'll treasure.
Probably the best burger I’ve ever had in Kauai and the owners are so nice to chat with. It was lovely hearing about it their history and how her mom grows the Taro that they serve. So a great place we went a couple times on our trip!
