Food is good but service is bad. Both times I have come my order has been wrong, today they gave me plain chicken fingers and I had to come back to ask for sauce. Apparently they were out of the sauce I ordered so assumed I would order no sauce and didn’t mention it. Didn’t notice until I got home and had to come back Staff were rude and seemed pretty annoyed that I came back and wanted sauce. Check order before you go too far. I like Big J's because it is one of only a few places that does this type of fried chicken (specifically chicken and waffles) in Portland. The chicken here is ok but I'm never truly impressed and always feel like the food wasn't cooked fresh. Tenders are a bit dry with hard, not crispy, breading; the texture you get from fast food that's left under a heating lamp for hours.
