Despite charging premium rates and representing their work as top-tier, the standard delivered fell materially below what was promised. After payment of the deposit, communication deteriorated significantly. Follow-up attempts were routinely ignored, and meaningful updates were not provided. You can tell the integrity of a company, not by when things go right, but when things don't. Firstly, BDB was excellent when it came to the build of my Chevy 2500. I had many issues (self inflicted) when it came to the delivery and then transport of my vehicle from Adelaide (before they started organising transport), and then with a tub drawer system I outsourced. What a truck! My partner and I originally planned on touring in a LandCruiser 300, but quickly realised we couldn’t make our weights work—hence upgrading to a Chevy 2500. Just had our Chevy 2500 overhauled by Big Dog Builds, we are very happy with the outcome and professional quality of their workmanship. Our overall experience with Big Dog has been very positive one, from start to finish. First contact with Dean, workshop tour and then discussions with Cam for build date and details was all very positive. Kyle then looked after us and did our handover. We just picked up our 2500 Silverado from Big Dog Builds and honestly, we’re over the moon. The whole process was easy, the communication was solid, and the team were just great to deal with from start to finish. You can tell they take real pride in their work — everything on the truck looks spot‑on and exactly how we wanted it. It’s such a good feeling driving away knowing it was in the right hands.
