This review is for Big Buildings Direct and especially our sales rep - Timothy Hickman. He provided us with 5 star treatment. He has answered all of our questions (we had a lot as it is our first steel shop building), helped us target the shop for our budget and provided clear guidance to meet our needs! BEWARE**********************this company will take your $$$$$$$$$$ and won't return it when requested. Much like many others, we gave them $2,009 for a deposit. A 3rd party finally gave us plans that weren't sufficient for a building permit in our County. We called them about getting 20 pages of corrections to satisfy the permit requirements. We were told to pay $1,600 more to the 3rd party for add'l plans with no guaranty or refund if the building permit isn't approved. At that point we asked for a refund from Big Buildings... read more

As a founder and President of a local company, I contacted this company to make an appointment about a 5,000 sf steel building. Scheduled the appointment and then 2 hours before I was told they don’t meet people and good luck finding the right company. Wow, I would never consider this company if this is how they present themselves to a potential new customer.

BUYER BEWARE! My wife and I put a deposit of around $4000 down with Big Buildings Direct to have a workshop built in our backyard. After speaking with our township, we did not meet impervious coverage requirements to have the workshop built on our lot. We sent Big Buildings Direct a cancellation request, sent them our denied government permits as they required, and we were within the 90 days cancellation window and they fell SILENT. Kelvin Soto helped my son and I from start to finish. The foundation was set and I was given an install date but the hurricane was headed right toward Tampa. Kelvin did not miss a beat. The installation crew showed up at 0630 after a 5 hour drive and to my suprise the building was up by 1230. The building was the 24 x 30 foot Maurice with 11 foot walls and 2/ 10 foot garage doors. One entry door and 2 windows. We couldn’t be happier about the whole package.
