I gave Big Blue a 5 ⭐ because my child absolutely loves swimming here. The instructor is friendly, treating him well, and encouraging, and I’ve noticed my child becoming more confident and comfortable in the water. We’re very happy with the experience and look forward to every swimming lesson!
We’ve had a great experience at Big Blue Swim in Columbia. Both our 5-year-old and 7-year-old have made so much progress with their swimming skills and confidence. Our 5-year-old was initially very uncomfortable in the water, so it was amazing to see how confident and independent both kids were during our recent ocean trip. The instructors are patient and great with the kids, and the facility is always clean and well-maintained. Highly recommend!
Overall, I have been disappointed with our experience at Big Blue Swim School. My daughter has attended for more than a year, and during that time she has only advanced two levels. One of the biggest issues has been the extremely high turnover of swim instructors. It felt like we were constantly adjusting to a new instructor, and each instructor had a different teaching style and approach. It started well, and then I saw the inconsistencies and the money-grabbing tactics. If you don't ask questions or speak up, you will keep spending your money, and your child will make little progress. I would say 99% of the instructors are nice. The pool and waiting area are nice. I would honestly suggest looking somewhere else.
