My wife and I stayed here so we could experience the view of the stars, and the Big Bend Observatory did not disappoint! Both the views with the naked eye from the observation deck and the telescope were terrific! The hosts were very communicative and gave detailed information about the rental. If we ever come back to Big Bend, we'll almost certainly stay here again!
It's absolutely stunning. The observatory is great for the casual viewer or for the prospective pro.
Great place to stay!
Our three night stay at Big Bend Observatory was one of the best parts of our ten day trip to TX/NM. We had scheduled our trip to take advantage of the dark skies, and had so much fun with the Seestar S50 scope. Even though we were rank beginners, we could find specific stars and galaxies and end up with marvelous photographs of things we couldn't see with our naked eye. It was amazing.
