The family that owns Big 8 Tire saved the day. I got a flat outside of Ely and only had a small spare. It was late in the day, and the store was closed. They were outside the shop playing with their kids before the holiday. Regardless, they offered to help and patched my tire in no time! Very friendly and kind folks. Highly recommended!
This was one of the worst tire shops I’ve ever dealt with in 30 years of driving truck! My driver had a flat on Sunday afternoon. He looked up 24 hour road service and came across these jokers. When he called the after hours line he talked to some guy that was on the lake fishing with his boy. He called them again Monday morning and they sent some guy that just got out of jail and his wife to replace the tire. The driver said they stunk like pot smoke. I didn't go in so can't rate them for that but I called to get a quote on tires and he said 650 to 1200 on a2012 Subaru legacy(to put this in perspective if I were to sell my car right now I'd probably get about 1200 for it) I checked Walmart and can get all 4 for 280. So for me it's worth driving a couple hours to wm. Prices here are way too high from my perspective.
While traveling from Baja to Canada, we experienced a few mechanical issues with our Dodge Ram and 5th wheel. Our next closest town was Ely, Nevada, and Big 8 Tire was the nearest service shop. We arrived without an appointment at 8:00 a.m., knowing we needed at least a truck tire, possible radiator work, and had identified a broken spring on our 5th wheel.
