My 93 year old friend is on oxygen and in a wheelchair. She is assisted. After dinner last night she pushed her button to get help going back to her apartment. The CNA came immediately and turned her button off and left. After a long time my friend slowly made her way to the elevator and up to her apartment by herself. The CNA continued to clean tables. Another time there was a very long wait before she was taken back. Another time a CNA put her on the elevator and left her. She slowly made her ways back.

I am never one to write a negative review but I need to let everyone know that yes, what you read here about the communication is true. We had planned on moving our mother into a one bedroom unit but she ended up passing away in the hospital. She never stepped foot in Bickford yet I am STILL getting emails and letters reminding me to pay my past due monthly bill despite me making calls to let them know our mother was not leaving the hospital, would not be moving in, and had passed away. Terrible care! It all looks great at first and the staff makes a lot of promises and guarantees. It's all a sales pitch! They don't give proper care. My father had so many falls he was black and blue from head to toe. He wasn't bathed for 9 days, meds weren't given. We pulled him out after 3 weeks. Of course they kept thousands of dollars for those 3 weeks. DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!!!

Seems like a nice place, but the management team is terrible from the director down to kitchen management, the LPN (RNC) dresses in crop tops very unprofessional and the profanity they use around residents is terrible. The Cottage is not some place I would recommend unless new management cleaned it up. Also I have seen kids in the kitchen that belongs to staff while food is being prepared seems to be very unsanitary. Carpet is nasty because staff is letting residents use the bathroom on the floor.
