STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!! After admitting she didn’t know what was wrong with me instead of being upfront with me and displaying candor about her lack of knowledge she instead decided to recommend a therapist instead. Yeah doc I can’t keep food down and my stomach hurts because I’m sad! Very unprofessional and doesn’t really care about you. Wants to make money and doesn’t follow up.
I am writing in the hope that Dr. Halwan can possibly learn about my experience and fix it for others moving forward. I had an emergency room visit due to a traumatic experience. They were able to give me medicine that most likely spared me an emergency procedure (thanks Winthrop). My regular Gastro recommended a specific test that only a specialist could perform. Finally someone to listen and create a real plan! Dr Halwan is caring, knowledgeable, thorough, and creates a plan of care that is individualized to each patient. An excellent doctor!
While dr Halwan is a good dr. And a lovely caring dr. BUT I had two procedures Done on Nov.26, was told she does not discuss results with pt, but send results to referring physician. Well I have called him every , still does not have results. I called office oh results are right here. She will call you. I ask her to fax it to my dr. Oh I can’t do that until she talks to you. That is what is called a poor way to run a practice
This Dr.'s office was the most uncaring, incompetent office I've ever dealt with. They couldn't care less about the patient, the only thing they cared about is "I've done everything I can" and no one, and I mean no one, was willing to think out of the box or go an extra inch to try and help me find an alternate solution to my problem. So....even though this Dr. may be experienced and adequate, her office is so bad, that I just would never ever use this Dr. again if you paid me.
She is a great Dr. but a bit burned out. She does know her stuff but I think a bit laid back with treatment.
As an existing patient, in extreme pain, called and had to leave message describing pain - even mentioned considering going to ER-during office hours just to make an appointment. It took 3 DAYS for a call back. In the mean time, I called someone else and was seen, as a new patient, the following business day. Not the first time I've had issues with dr Halwan's "scheduler". Sad to say, Dr. Halwan's has lost this patient
Great experience with this doctor when you can get in. Plan on waiting 2 months for an apt and then 30-45 minutes to get into an exam room and 60 minutes to see her.
