The studio is one of nicest in Albuquerque, and there are a few very strong teachers. The community has some pretty toxic elements, like most yoga communities I've known. Some teachers are knowledgeable, while others probably don't know enough to be teaching, which was both surprising and disappointing in a YTT. The Ashtanga is top in the area. I love this studio so much, specifically Marisol’s classes. I’ve been trying to find my yoga home for a very long time and when I landed in Marisol’s class I knew I had found it. She is an incredible yogi, teacher and she has an amazing presence. She mixes serious yogi philosophy with a lot of humor (but don’t let the serious part put you off). The class I go to is intensive and long and afterwards I feel that I have given my body the best gift. Highly recommend!
I am in Albuquerque for vacation, and attended Yin/Restorative livestream with Raquel. It was a beautifully paced class, and each pose had modifications offered so I had no trouble even without access to many props in my hotel room! Raquel also spoke to the health benefits of various poses throughout the class. This was the perfect class to attend after a morning of traveling!
I truly commend Bhava for nurturing such an inclusive, approachable and yet robust space to practice yoga in. I went here several times a couple years ago while travelling in New Mexico. I still join virtual classes at Bhava because of how much I valued the instructors and philosophy over yoga studios even nearby me in New York.
