Everything we tried here was excellent. From the pastries to the pretzels to the sandwiches, all was delicious and filling. We went on a weekday morning and the place was not busy. We sat outside in the courtyard under some shade which was lovely. My only disappointment is that I cannot be a regular customer since I do not live in Tucson, otherwise I would be here almost every day!
The space was open and the tables were not not crowded too close. Stood in line to order but it moved along quickly. Gave less than 5 stars because of my experience: Ordered a "Burt's Bag" sandwich, but when it was delivered I literally couldn't bite through the tough baguette bread. I said the bread was too hard and I couldn't eat it. The young man behind the counter said, "Yeah, that is our baguette. I probably should have told you that when you ordered." Used to eat here 3 times a week, now much less. Their strong suit is their bread. They make it in house...several flavors, mostly sour dough. Lots of sandwich combos some very good, none great. No grill on premises but do have toaster, so adjust your expectations accordingly...no burgers, "toasted" Rubens, etc. Yesterday i went for the first time in a month and "shrinkage" has struck Beyond Bread.
