Rica (Rockville) has improved within the 6 years I've been here, however, the first 3 years of me being in this school had me contemplating taking my own life. Staff weren’t really good with boundaries at all, or knowing when restraining students was genuinely necessary. Pushes students into mainstreaming, education is not the top priority. It’s a combined middle & high school, has less than 100 students attending, so it’s a very small environment, which is helpful for people who get overwhelmed in large groups. This is my previous review I left on google. The Regional Institution for Children and Adolescents is a reforming school for children whom have misbehaved in the past. Although part of the time it’s reforming is successful and students leave, it is also mentally damaging, especially for children with mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and autism. I previously wrote a review on google for this place that criticized parts of the school, however it got removed. I truly want to say that there are way better schools than this one. I’ve managed to improve myself since I started here, but with no help from people who claimed they were helping. I’ve developed insecurities, fears, anxiety, and deeper issues from this place. I don’t have much complaint about the teachers, but I have a big problem with a lot of the SSR staff and some of the security and some therapists. My expe... read more
My review dated June 29, 2016 said that Bradley Hills is bad. It is actually not bad and was very good. This was not a good thing to do and I did it because I was curious to see what would happen. I am sorry.
