NO REFUNDS, NO EXCHANGES! If there were a zero star rating, that would be my first choice for this place! Rude and arrogant is an accurate description for their employees. I purchased 4 items & when I got home in better lighting, found spots on 2 of the items. The lighting in this store is not sufficient for a consignment store!! Good selection but high prices Better Than Before has a large selection of adult clothes but the prices are not for the bargain hunter. I do like their 3-tier pricing system that makes the price go down the longer that they've had that particular item. I've always been disappointed at their selection of children's clothing because they usually don't have much for kids.
Rude staff, poor customer service I had a similar experience to "unknown u" below. I called to get information about consigning and the woman who answered the phone was incredibly rude. Told me quite abruptly that there were no appointments available (how silly of me to think that was their business!), didn't offer to make one for a later time, and condescendingly called me by the wrong name. Prices definitley too high - Lost my clothing! I also see that the prices at Better than Before are higher than those stores who sell the same clothing at full price. For instance, my mom has shopped there for my children and paid $16 for a second-hand Carter's brand romper when you can get the same style at many other stores for $12 or $13 brand new. Needs a better consigner/business relationship Overall the store is laid out nice and the clothes are resonably priced but the staff is rude and arrogant. Even when I've set up an appointment with them, they act like they are doing me a favor to even look throught the clothes I've brought in. High Prices!! They seem to keep a large selection of women's clothes in and sometimes childrens. Their prices are way high for used clothing. They try to brand themselves as a more upscale clothing shop, but their brands are not always that. I've often seen mart brands priced for more than they are on the rack new! Their children's selection can be dissapointing at times with limited merchandise and/or quality. This is definitely not for the bargain hunter.
Rude Lady that answered the phone! I just called to get info on possibly getting assistance with selling some of my designer jeans such as; silver brand, Calvin Klein and many more. Great deals for designer labels I found Better Than Before Decatur to be a great place to get great bargains. They have mostly better brands - a few average. People that complain about their high prices might not recognize the designer labels they're looking at. Their prices are very competitive given the brands and quality they carry. I love shopping there. Clarks shoes for $20 or a Coach purse for $80? That's what I call a bargain!!!
Great Consigning I have been shopping/consigning at Better than Before for going on a year, now. They have never "lost" any of my clothing. This is a HUGE consignment store that carries only clothing/jewelry/accessories. And, they ONLY carry items that are good as new. Recently I bought an Eddie Bauer silk wrap top for $2.00. I love this place! It is true that their prices are higher than other consignment shops but their items are in much better condition. I give it 5 stars!
