I had a dispute over a security deposit that was going on for far too long with no end in sight. I wish I had reached out to the Better Business Bureau of Champaign from the start - it most likely would have saved alot of time and frustration. After filing a claim with the Illinois Attorney General’s office and getting no response, the BBB’s online process was quick, easy, and incredibly effective. Interacting with the BBB is a waste of the consumer and the businesses time. If you have an issue with a business use Google reviews or the Illinois Attorney General's office.
I contacted the BBB about a business (windowz4less) that gave me defective windows, did a bait and switch on the glass package, then stopped responding. Ms Tharp at the BBB told me I must give WL4 a chance (after I gave them many before) and go through all BBB procedures before the BBB may try arbitration for a refund. I did everything she told me. No one answers the phone when you call. They will respond to emails, up to a point. We had a customer complain about our business. We wanted to respond, but BBB didn’t have the correct locations attached to my logins. I tried calling and always got a voicemail. I emailed and received new login information, but for locations that weren’t mine. After I requested to set up phone call to rectify, I have been ghosted. Of course, the BBB only gives you 4 days to respond to complaints. So, I assume the complaint will be on the page... read more
