Been “BBB accredited” since our business started up several years ago. Worked very hard to build up our reviews. Then slowly started noticing them disappearing on our account. Asked why this was happening they said “oh, they start to delete themselves after 2 years”.. who would want to put the time in building something that just deletes?? Googles stay for life! BBB is the past. Google/Yelp/ Facebook. Word of mouth.

A “consumer protection” joke that exists to shield businesses, not people This BBB office is a perfect example of why the BBB has become USELESS. I filed a complaint against CarShield with clear evidence: I was never a customer, they assigned me a fake “customer ID,” sent a deceptive solicitation, and contacted me after claiming I was on their do‑not‑contact list. Price for membership keeps going up. Not sure why I need this to be honest. Google reviews is what most people use for reference.

I had a dispute over a security deposit that was going on for far too long with no end in sight. I wish I had reached out to the Better Business Bureau of Champaign from the start - it most likely would have saved alot of time and frustration. After filing a claim with the Illinois Attorney General’s office and getting no response, the BBB’s online process was quick, easy, and incredibly effective.
