RecommendedBethesda Barclay House is a wonderful independent living retirement community. So glad we made the move when we did, and so glad and grateful we chose this place.
You care much more for your agency people than your employees than been here daily for over 15 years. Let's make their life gravy and treat our employees like a piece of dirt. Anything for an agency person, plus they make so much more money and push all their problems on the regulars. And they never have to come back if they don't want to. Place just sucks!!
RecommendedMy mother has been a resident since June 1, 2018. We are extremely satisfied with the care and facilities at Hawthorne Place. The staff are caring and continue to ask what more they can do to ensure our satisfaction. The facilities are well designed and practically new. The social opportunities are frequent and varied and add that personal touch that goes a long way in helping make Hawthorne Place an exceptional place to live.

This is an AWFUL place. I worked nights as private duty for a family who had a loved one in here. The care staff they hire sleep on couches, at tables w their head down, wherever they can. Call lights dinging ALL night long w/o being answered. They leave elderly patients on the toilet alone for 30 min or more. Cannot say 1 nice thing about this atrocity of a facility. Like One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. Deplorable!!!!!
I've been in a lot of communities in the area and others just don't come close to Bethesda.
Fantastic place to work! I love the administrators. I love the staff and residents; I couldn't think of a better place to be!
