A for atrocious. I deeply regret telling EMS to take my husband and me to this facility. The staff completely lack urgency, are unhelpful, and are incredibly rude. We were entirely forgotten about. Despite being told numerous times that we would be seen, staff showed zero empathy for the fact that we were in clear mental and physical distress. I came to the ER tonight at my doctor’s insistence after a back injury that caused me to lose control of my bladder and bowels. My doctor called ahead because I have PTSD related to hospitals and specifically explained that I would need help managing my anxiety so I could remain there for treatment. I waited more than six hours with severe pain, including shooting pain through my groin, vagina, anus, and down my legs. I was admitted to the ED for chest and jaw pain due to violence towards me the past few days. I was told by a social worker that I imagined it even though I had evidence and witnesses. I was transferred to the Psychiatric ward for 3 1/2 weeks where the doctor used an aggressive tone of voice with me and told me “There’s no abuse inside Hebrew SeniorLife!” He later changed his mind and told me he does believe there is abuse in senior housing but none at Hebrew SeniorLife.
