We were pleasantly surprised with the wonderful view over the lake and over to Mackinac Island. The room was very spacious and comfortable and the staff was friendly. The location was good as we could walk to the ferry station and was convenient to restaurants. They have both an indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub. Breakfast featured fresh waffles and many other choices.
I love that the pool and hot tub stayed open until 10 or 11 pm. They have an indoor pool and hot tub plus an outdoor pool and hot tub! They have a bon fire down by the water. The pool and hot tub need a little fixing up but nothing to bad. Its the only place that I stay. The bed was pretty hard but the good outweighs the bad by far.
The location of this hotel is stellar, surrounded by some of the most awe inspiring natural beauty that Pure Michigan has to offer. It is clean, and service is friendly and helpful. They could stand to invest in some better quality bed linens, as the pillows were lumpy and sheets were a little rough. Breakfast service could stand a little upgrade as well. This is a decent hotel. We stayed there for a couple nights and were pleased by our experience. It’s quiet, cozy and very close tourist attractions. Ferries to Mackinac island are at a walking distance of 10 mins. The hotel also offers shuttles to and from Shelley’s Ferry terminal (as of the review date). Our room had a direct view the lake and the hotel also has a beach 🏝️. The only thing to consider is that being so close to the lake there are a lot of tiny bugs flying around, especially at night.
