NOT MILITARY FRIENDLY OR CAT FRIENDLY. Advertised as “Pet Friendly” but after driving 12 hours trying to get to my next duty station (with a toddler and my cat and all my worldly possessions in my car) I was told that I could not bring my cat inside. After the website CLEARLY says “PET FRIENDLY!!” I was at my limit with my kid playing bongos in the lobby and the manager would not take pity on an Active Duty Soldier wanting to staying in their hotel after an extremely long day of driving. Our stay at the Best Western De Anza Inn in Monterey was truly exceptional. I've stayed at this hotel twice now while visiting Monterey. When you first walk into the lobby, you'll be greeted by some beautiful Koi fish in the indoor pond next to the counter. The gentleman checking me in was super nice and I made sure I had done my pre-check in duties through their app before arriving. There are no a/c units in the rooms, but only a huge fan and windows that you can open to keep cool.
