Dr. Averitt is amazing, she genuinely cares about your child getting the best care. She listens to and validates your concerns , answers all your questions. She doesn’t rush , but really takes the time that’s needed with your child to ensure the best possible care is provided. I would recommend anyone to this pediatrician. Our children are our greatest assets. When you entrust the care of your child to someone, you expect the absolute best. Our child, a premie infant, has struggled to thrive her first few months of life with feeding and growing. When my brother was younger, I remember the attention to care being phenomenal. Now, however, it is just disappointing, especially considering how well this center is talked about. Each time in the last 10+ months I’ve called, I have been sent to voicemail and expected to leave a message for “a call back,” which does not happen. My son had a prescription a few months back for an ear infection, and upon calling the pharmacy, learned that it had not been sent in. I haven't necessarily had horrible experiences at Best Start...they've just been a little less good than what I would expect. And they seem to be getting worse over time. The last time I took my child there they kind of dropped the ball on diagnosing some issues. The goal didn't seem to be to make sure she was healthy, but to just get the fees. The issue more recently is that I can never actually get in touch with anyone when I call. It just goes to voicemail with a message saying they'll call you back. This might be news to... read more
