I was expecting a quick fix initially but the first electrician proposed rewiring most of the area so I went for a second opinion. The second electrician fitted the required outlets and switches in less than an hour with no inconvenience, demonstrating me that a complete rewiring was not essential.
The electrician spent about two hours relocating the electrical outlet and switch, which seemed fair since he had to cut into the drywall and reroute wiring. And he repaired the wall neatly and made sure that everything was working properly before he left.
