Dear Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, No large system is perfect, but I frequently wonder if maybe the Kelsey administration has tied the dollar billing per patient minute directly to my doctor's paycheck. On the other hand, I found the very best specialist of my life at Kelsey. I had to use Kelsey-Seybold because of my insurance. Unfortunately I was subjected to long wait times, as in over an hour for a routine visit. I was forced to endure referral after referral because that is what the insurance required.So I had to pay $60 for each specialist visit where I literally saw the doctor for 5 minutes before she wanted to refer me to the actual doctor I needed to see. Kelsey Seybold Holds your Money Hostage! – I cannot tell you how much time I have wasted talking to the people in the billing department. The day before my surgery, the surgeon's office called to collect the money due for the surgery. I paid $893.22. In the mean time, I had surgery and many claims were processed. So many that I met my maximum out of pocket expense for the year. Horrible. – Went in four times for blood work, at first they said my calcium was a little high, and that I was experiencing heart palpitations, well i called back up there about a week later for records so I could go see a specialist and supposedly the high calcium and heart palpitations were not on file, the nurses were more help than the doctors. Kelsey-Seybold Clinic takes your money! – I had a doctor’s visit and Kelsey Seybold did not even send my claim to my insurance, but deducted the total directly from my prepayment without my permission. When I called them for a reason, they claimed that my insurance denied the file, but they couldn’t provide any more information. I called the business office several times, every time there was a different person saying they would “re-send” my file. AVOID despicable billing practices – I paid >$400 cash, no insurance for a visit only to them LATER decide the charge should have been $15.00 higher. Unfortunately I had moved and never received the bill that I had no reason to expect. I found out when I saw a collection agency appear on my credit report for yes, $25 ($10 late fee). 40 point credit drop, no recourse.

Don't go to this clinic – I am new to Houston and was told the Kelsey Seybold clinic was a good place to go. It was great because I was able to get an appointment very quickly. The doctor's didn't do any of the normal things like taking weight or height. When i was waiting for the doctor, I heard the nurse say "We actually have a patient today." I strongly advise against going to Kelsey-Seybold – I have gone to this location about 5 times to a different doctor each time. Getting an appointment was very easy and I was even able to call in the middle of the night and get the appointment. And the wait time was actually resonable each time, about 20-30 minutes, between 8-9 in the morning. However, every nurse and doctor I have seen there has been so ingenuine. Double billing – This is the second time I got charged for two visits, when it really should be one. I took my daughter for a wellness visit. Since we discussed her heath issues, I was charged for another visit. Is this the point of a wellness visit? I always seem to having billing issues with Kelsey. They either give the wrong codes, so the insurance company doesn't want to pay, or try to charge more for their services.
