My insurance company's website says Bernstein is covered, but what isn't covered is the new $750 up front "join the club" fee. Alerting my ENT now before he redirects others to this allergy group. UPDATE: my ENT was unaware of this fee and gave me a different different referral, thanking me for the info. 2nd UPDATE: The Bernsteins are still listed as covered by Aetna Insurance as of today (6/4/2025). Aetna may just need to update their site. My ENT also thought they were still covered by Aetna.

This doctor's office is more like a country club. To become a member, there's a $750 annual fee. Each appointment is another $250. It doesn't matter how good your insurance is, they don't want to deal with insurance companies, so they simply make patients pay their stated fees. Unless you have money to throw around, this doctor's office is probably not for you.

I saw Dr Bernstein and at my first appointment I thought he was going to be able to help me. I got diagnosed with systemic mastocytosis at my new doctors office and was trying to do so with Dr Bernstein. He had me going in circles, he did start me on medicines that helped me somewhat, but he kept telling me “test results” and then ordering the same test not remembering that I had done it already. Only went once, found out they were going to stop taking insurance, start charging an obscenely high yearly subscription fee, and other out of pocket costs per visit. Considering my experience there was less than pleasant I was already hesitant to go back, but once I heard about that change it was an easy decision. Care: This practice saved my life when many other specialists could not fathom what was so terribly wrong with me.
