Great Dr that really cares
My experience with Dr. Bernadette Profeta was deeply negative and continues to affect my health and my life years later. In 2019, I went to the hospital with what was diagnosed as uncomplicated appendicitis. Instead of receiving the standard and appropriate appendectomy, I woke up to learn that an ileocecectomy had been performed—meaning part of my ileum and colon were removed. Dr. Profeta is an amazing doctor. I was in pain for all of October and finally gave in to my pain and ended up at Advent Hospital off Lake Underhill. I honestly thought I’d be home in a few hours. I ended up being in the hospital for 6 days and found out I needed my gallbladder removed. Which was totally unexpected. I had another doctor give me advice to discharge me. From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely cared for. The registration staff was warm and welcoming, and the medical technician went above and beyond to explain everything clearly and ease my concerns. Dr. Profeta was professional, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions with confidence. My wait time was minimal, which I really appreciated.
