My husband has been in the memory unit of Berman Commons for almost four months and I cannot speak highly enough about the care he is receiving. From the executive office down to each of the caregivers, they are so caring and helpful, not only to the resident, but to our entire family. I can’t think of anywhere I would rather have him to help us through this painful time in our lives. We feel so fortunate that they had a space for him.
As a LICENSED CNA who’s worked here , this place is not safe ! They employ UN LICENSED people to care for your loved ones and that took me back . A facility so nice should fund only Licensed people . Also , there’s an African med tech who works on the second floor who is extremely careless ! As a med tech you are STILL a CNA as you are not a nurse and expected to still perform such duties ! My partner, Michael D, was a resident at Berman Commons for just a few short months before he passed away. The staff never failed to impress me with their kindness, thoughtfulness, and most importantly, their grace. As Michael was nearly the end of his life fighting glioblastoma, he was not always an easy person to care for. The staff went above and beyond to meet his needs and keep him comfortable. I attended the anniversary and Purim party last Thursday. The staff and residents were all interacting in such a warm and familiar way that it really felt like a family atmosphere! There was great music and good food. We are so lucky to have this facility in our community and it is so wonderful to see our seniors legitimately having FUN!
very sad the way they treated mom ...please make sure that if a loved one is here to keep an eye on them ..
