I scheduled an appointment for a specific time window, took time off work to be home, and they never showed up. No phone call, no text, nothing. When I called to ask where they were, it went straight to voicemail. Zero communication and zero respect for my time. Save yourself the headache and call someone else.
Very responsive, communicative and efficient owner and team. Upgraded remaining knob and tube, installed new subpanel, included troubleshooting of prior work by others in past 108 years, patched the many holes and addressed all concerns. All in short time period as we needed.
I selected Berkeley Electric back in 2020 to do a whole home rewire (including removal of knob and tube) and an amperage upgrade, and I feel so lucky to have found them. Berkeley Electric did an impeccable job with the rewire, including helping me select outlet placement, and since then the electrical system has stood the test of time excellently, even through a bathroom remodel and the additional of several new appliances (sump pump, disposal, electric stove, etc.). My project involved electrical wiring in an older 4-plex in Oakland to replace existing knob and tube. I asked two companies to give me estimates, which were very close. Berkeley Electric did a total rewiring of my 98 year old home. The work was done quickly and correctly, the house was left clean- no problems at all. Everyone I spoke with at the company was patient, polite an helpful. Work was completed a little ahead of schedule, and there were no surprises on the final bill.
