Really enjoyed our first trip to Ubergrippen Denver. Clean space, friendly vibes, welcoming and very helpful staff. Shout out to Ethan and Grant for being so great with some first time climbers too! Would highly recommend!
The gym was kick ass. There’s a lot to offer both in the first and second floor. It’s clean spacious and organized. The only thing was the staff, particularly one guy, don’t know his name but he has a septum and tattoo on his fingers that say hold each letter on each finger. This guy asked us to test for him, he was sarcastic, unfriendly, and flat out rude to myself and my girlfriend. His explanations were unhelpful and just overall a downer. Don’t know what this guys deal was but maybe check up on him.
Overall a really solid place to climb. Lots of top ropes, lead routes, a few autobelays, a reasonably large bouldering area, training area and gym (lifting, cardio) upstairs. Routes are updated regularly and route setters are generally great. Occasionally a grade seems a little sandbagged or generous, but that’s expected at any gym. Jacinth was super quick and helpful in getting us top rope certified so that we could climb for a few hours before our flight out of DEN.
