A combination of kitschy garbage and objet d'art - both of which make good gifts
Bergo Design is one of the most unique stores in Toronto. Every time I go, I’m reminded of the smiles and wonderment on my kids’ faces. While one half of the store sells luxury household and lifestyle items, the other half offers quirky and truly ingenious versions of the same e.g. cockroach clips, sushi dish sponge etc. Admittedly, I rarely buy anything from Bergo but it’s hard to walk out empty-handed. Rude staff. Overpriced items. If you are a jellycat collector, they have a whole wall of them.
Okay I actually like this store. I enjoy looking at keast. The prices are exorbitant. The throw pillow I saw was over $500 but I still love all the unique stuff. The Staff has never greeted me anytime I've gone but that doesn't bother me. Interesting store or maybe it's because there is nothing else by way of shopping at the distillery district. If that store wasn't there ( and Hair Salon McManus )then I likely wouldn't even go to the distillery district.
