It has the taste of country home cookin..and a variety of foods and fresh meats and vegetables.
This has been a long standing place for us to find home cooked Southern food when we want to take a break and not cook it ourselves. So MANY delicious foods...collards, barbeque, fried chicken, macaroni salad and more!
This afternoon my son picked up 100 oysters for me at Bennett's Creek Market. They are superb. Thank You for great service and top quality seafoods, fresh vegetables, delicious Barbecue, and chicken salad that is first rate and homemade.
Although I grew up just a couple of miles away, I didn't realize the treasures that this spot held until I was fully grown. I never can come this way for a visit without stopping in. I always leave with a plethora of treats! This is Suffolk's best kept secret. Whether you are looking for breakfast with fresh sausage and all the fixins or Saturday evening prime rib, you can never go wrong. The largest crabs in the area and freshest produce can be found inside.
I can't believe I've lived in Portsmouth all my life and drove by without stopping! The chicken salad, the FUDGE, omg - the jellies, the pickled veggies, the CRABS!! Tomatoes the size of grapefruits.....Love this place.
