This place is wonderful. The staff is friendly and helpful. The drink list is great. The food is outstanding. While here on vaca I wanted to find a sushi restaurant close to my hotel. The service was so good. I felt comfortable here. If you are in the area stop by. You won't be disappointed.
Ben Kay in Portland has quickly become one of my favorite sushi spots. The spicy tuna roll was super fresh, with well‑seasoned rice and just the right amount of kick. The Baja roll was the standout of the night, a perfect balance of umami and heat that I’d go back for on its own. Service was excellent throughout: friendly, attentive, and on top of everything without ever feeling rushed.
Food was so-so. Not worth it for the price. Service and atmosphere were solid, but too pricey for the quality of food
The soft shell crab was the best I've ever had and the portion was huge. It certainly seemed like more than one crab and at $14, I think it was the best value on the menu. The sushi was fresh and delicious. The botan eni which is hard to find was sweet and the body was fried nicely. The quality can't be beat though, since you only receive a single piece with each order of sushi instead of the standard two pieces and only two pieces with a sashimi instead of the more common three pieces, it is a bit more pricey than most sush... read more
