Last weekend (memorial day) we went to Benito One on mulberry street in little italy and saw a BIG rodent in the dining room after we were served our food. Needless to say we did not eat our meal and would NEVER go back there again. How unsanitary? Who wants to eat in a place with rats?
Really Really bad. The worst dining experience ever! – This restaurant on mulberry street in little italy has a nice atmosphere and decent food but is so small that our whole experience was TOTALLY WASTED and made VERY UNPLEASANT and TENSION FILLED by the abuse we watched the man behind the counter (manager or owner I guess) dole out to what limited staff there was in the first place. Fantastic! – I was doing some shopping with my wife to be in Soho while we decide to take a walk down Mulberry street and happened to see this cozy, romantic, and non touristy looking italian resturant call Benito One. So we decided to give it a try, as we walked in we felt at eased from the lovely paintings to the colors of the wall. The atmosphere and the service was great. Not so bad – I enjoyed the pizza that I ordered but felt the setting wasn't great. Staff were friendly and helpful and food was all well priced. All in all I would probably go back there some day
Worst Italian in Little Italy – we all concluded that this was a very bad choice. We ordered an appetizer of grilled portabello mushrooms, but when it came, it was over fried, soaking with oil and was black because it was so burned. The bread they served was decent quality but since they keep it in the refridgerator and heat it up when you ask for it, ours came to the table still cold on the inside... real classy!
