Absolutely the worst freight company out there! Bought a pinball from someone who has used them for years. It arrived with severe damage and the drivers and myself noticed it immediately. They noted everything on the BOL. Freight with coverage was purchased and after weeks of back and forth, sending wrong case documentation and accusing us. I've been using Beltmann for years...something has changed. I run a pinball company in St Louis. I shipped a machine with insurance that they heavily damaged in shipping. They completely fumbled the claims process and refused to pay for damages. They sent me bizarre documents from someone else's case. Completely unprofessional and clueless over there. Used them to ship a Pinball machine. I would never use them again. 20 days to go from Salt Lake to Austin. 20. Days. Not only that but they charged $750 to ship it. I shipped a CAR from Chicago to Austin for $1200 and it got here next day. Yet they can’t get a pinball machine here in less than 20 days? 5 days was reasonable. 7-10 is really slow. 20 days? Unacceptable.
Don't expect them to arrive on time to the move, there will be some "miscommunication" from the person you talk to over email and the crew. Then the reps will pat each other on the back in the same email thread for making sure they sent out a great crew while avoiding taking responsibility for their obvious mistakes. The crew was nice when they finally arrived though.
My agency had a scheduled pick up (BUF-792-4) from this company today. The 2 gentlemen, Jonathan Hoesel and Brian Smith were very timely, professional, friendly and such a pleasure to work with.
