I am writing this review to strongly warn anyone considering dealing with Mentone Belle Property. After driving all the way from Sydney to Melbourne to move into our new apartment, we discovered that the real estate had given us an incomplete set of keys. As a result, we were locked out of our own home on moving day, forced to call and pay for a locksmith at our own expense. Simon has been great from the beginning. Very easy to talk to and always available to answer questions and help out. He was very accommodating organising an extra viewing for us and meeting the building inspector promptly. Simon was transparent and didn’t ever pressure us or try and hurry us into the sale. I would not rent from Belle Property again—even if my only other option was a cardboard box in a storm drain Belle took over the management of my rental about nine months into a two-year tenancy. The property manager who stepped in—though no longer with them—was an absolute nightmare. I raised multiple concerns with Belle's property management lead and the licensee, including breaches of tenancy law (such as attempting to conduct inspections within the restricted 6-month window and neglecting basic obligations). Simon was great in helping us purchase our first home! He was very willing to help and answer questions during the inspections and for questions where he did not immediately have the answer, he would go find out and give us a call after. After the purchase, without asking, Simon sent over many things which were helpful in preparing for the new house. Overall, we were very satisfied with his service. Thank you!
If you want a property management team who is rude to your tenants, refuses to (or is incapable of) passing communication on to the owners, ignores emails when it suits them, and generally treats tenants like they are the scum of the earth - this is the agency for you!
