Bellbrook Canoe Rental has been owned by three different individuals. The latest owner, Ron Mullikin, bought the rental in 2006. Under his ownership, business has doubled, and he continues to make changes and improvements to make Bellbrook Canoe Rental better for customers' needs. No frills. No bathrooms (port-a-johns are available), nowhere to change, but still somewhat pricey. Employees were pleasant enough. They take you to launch at the narrows reserve. By my measure, that's about a half-mile less than advertised. Just as well, though, as on this day we had to drag our kayaks a total of about a quarter mile over the barely-submerged rocks of the riverbed due to the river being so low. Fun but not my favorite stretch of the river. Had to get out of the canoe often as there are several shallow areas. Most of the life vests were black with mold... so not well maintained here. Also no changing rooms; just a few port a pots. Service was just ok and we enjoyed ourselves but will try a different place the next time.
Only had to get out of the canoe 5 times! . Outdoor fun.
