Authentic Italian food in Old Town Monrovia My wife and I decided to try Bella Sera after reading positive reviews on Insider Pages. We were not disappointed! The inside dinning area has a cozy atmosphere, and the outside garden patio (where we dined) has an Italian courtyard feel complete with decorative planter boxes and a small fountain. Great Place for Romantic Dinner The restaurant is so unique. My favorite antipasti is Prosciutto e Burrata. The ceasar salad is great and the linguine with clams is wonderful. The restaurant is very charming. It is very, very romantic. My husband and i went there for Valentines day. The prices are resonable too. PROS: food is full of flavor! CONS: food takes a while, so conversation is a must
Great Food - Great Atmosphere I think that Bella Sera has struck a wonderful balance of upbeat decor with casual elogance that makes every meal feel special and festive. For a few bucks more than the "Chuck-E-Cheez" style Italian chains that indundate everywhere, you can have an authentic meal, with wonderful staff and atmosphere at a restaurant where you acutally meet the owner. My only bad experience there was the "creme brulee" which was a multi-flavored thin "spread" with no bruleee. Skip the brulee but do try the rest! ... read more
This has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants. Atmosphere at Bella Sera is low key, not very noisy - you can hear the people sitting across the table. Service is good - but not in a hurry. (For parents of young children, we felt it was slow - but then we are used to eating at lightning speed). The food - just the best. The sauces they create are amazing and the tri-flavored Creme Brulee' is fabulous.
