Wow, what a difference. First off, I'd like to thank them for their excellent customer support. Somehow I managed to not send the payment through, they notified me a couple of days later that my order was still pending because the payment hadn't processed. I quickly did so, and the parts were shipped out immediately. Next, the rebuild kit worked exactly as advertised. Wow, talk about state-of-the-art, old-school service! I made an order for a whole Vanos kit, and in minutes Lama called me back to let me know that if I didn't need the whole kit (I didn't), that the O rings I needed were available separately. Who does this??!! Then she wisely counseled me on some installation tips, due no doubt to a lot of customers failing to read them and having a less than stellar experience.
