RecommendedI had a beautiful Saturday hanging out with my godmother and she brought me to this beautiful beautiful antique home filled with so many goodies!! I could spend hours and hours here!! Selma was so nice !! I will be going back and visiting very soon!!
Every time we visit Syracuse, we look forward to shopping at Behind The Iron Gates. Selma and her team always go above and beyond to help us find the items we want and more. The selections are tremendous. The atmosphere in the shop is just like being with friends. Always lots of laughs and great advice and help from the staff. Prices are reasonable too! We can’t wait till the next time we are in Syracuse to visit Selma and her team for another memorable shopping experience.
We shopped there for the first time today, and will definitely be back! I need to return by myself, so I can get lost in all of the old books, and the linen room! What an amazing, quaint place!

Not enough stars for this place. Selma the owner is hands-down the most kind-hearted entrepreneur bringing back history and your childhood memories the store is overwhelming with wonderful treasures. Not to mention if you want jewelry gold white gold sterling silver with beautiful diamonds semi-precious stones etc etc. Best darn prices anywhere.
My sister and I made it to the sale yesterday!! we love it here - poking in all the corners of every room. The 50% off sale is awesome. My sister bought a shelf full of her favorite Annalee critters!! Staff was great! thanks for a great day!
This place is more than amazing. The owner Selma and the other lovely women who work here were phenomenal in helping me find exactly what I was looking for and more. I walked in not knowing what to expect and left in tears of joy, literally. They gave me such a great surprise when they gifted me my item as a Merry Christmas. My mother brought me to Selma today and as soon as I walked in it felt like home. I would shop at Behind The Iron Gates over the mall any day. It’s hard to find good gifts this holiday season but I could buy gifts for my entire family here. I’m only 16 and often young people are mistreated when they’re shopping, her employees were very friendly and actually talked to me.
