I went in for a manicure and opted for dip nails. However, the technician filed my real nails down so short that the skin underneath my thumb was actually longer than my nails (see pic). The service was so poor that I decided to get up and pay after she told me to wash my hands. Ideally, the nails should extend further than the skin underneath. I grew my real nails out for 6 months.
