Today is Mother’s Day, our first Mother’s Day without our mom, Jane. She had been slipping away from us for many years, due to her dementia. At age 90, all of a sudden, one day, Mom was not able to stand up, and Dad was not physically able to care for her. My sister and I were blessed to have my mom Judy live here for the last year and a half of her life. From my experience, it is challenging to find a decent care facility these days. Something else that gave me peace of mind was that they had people on staff at night caring for the residents as well. Janet and Robert were the only facility willing to take my mom as a hospice resident. I will spare you the details, but the challenge was considerable. Their constant care, positive relationship, and food that mom always enjoyed turned her situation around, and she healed remarkably. Essentially, they saved her life, she transitioned out of hospice, and is now in a rehab home that can concentrate daily rehabilitation for her. My husband and I had a very negative experience at this home. I moved my husband during Corona as I could not leave him there. Luckily, Rick spent the last three months of his life in a loving, compassionate home with competent caring caregivers.
The care provided at Beaverton Senior Care Home is exceptional! I have received compliments from my former patients that were placed at this home and they are very happy with the care, the food and the activities provided in this nurse owned adult care home.
