I am so angry at the owners of Independence Village (Story Point) based out of Michigan. This organization is greed ridden and predatory. They displaced 30 residents and are firing their staff in their long-term residential care unit in Waukee, only to build a memory care unit which will open in two years. The local staff has dedicated their lives to these seniors and they're throwing them away, like they did my mom. What a beautiful facility with amazing staff! I appreciated the cleanliness and welcoming environment. The activities for residents to create a community experience is incredible. I look forward to visiting my mom and for her getting to make friends.
