On October 4th, I visited the Emergency Department at Corwell Health, Lenox Township, due to a deep cut on my finger. I am prescribed aspirin, a blood thinner, and as a result, the bleeding from the wound would not stop. Upon arrival, I informed the medical staff of my condition and the continuous bleeding. However, I was advised that my situation did not qualify as an emergency and was instructed to wait for my turn. I went to the ER with a persistent headache after being directed there by urgent care when Toradol and a steroid didn’t provide relief. My goal wasn’t pain medication, it was to make sure I was medically safe given my symptoms and abnormal lab work. Unfortunately, I did not feel listened to.
