Dr.Beaton was my surgeon during my darkest days with pain and suffering that needed emergency surgery for a large bowel obstruction. Gave me options and was tentative to my needs.
Dr. Beaton performed my hernia operation 2 ½ years ago, and most recently I consulted with him after I had emergency surgery at another hospital. In both of these different experiences, I can say that one can sense almost from the first few minutes of speaking with Dr. Beaton that this is doctor who truly cares about his patients as individuals. Dr. Beaton has saved my life more then once. He pays attention to me and provide me with the necessary feed back to my questions. He has great bed side manners. He is my go to doctor when my other doctors tell me anything that do not sound good. He will explain it to me and tell me the pros and cons. He is the nicest doctor any one should have. I had a hernia repair a year ago with Dr. Beaton. 2 things struck me. First, during visits to determine if I had a hernia he never once pointed out that there are 2 ways to surgically repair hernias. He specializes in the far more invasive one. I work full-time, and his surgery required a longer recovery time than labroscopy. Second, during recovery he refused pain medication to me. I was in day 4 of recovery, and in a lot of pain - he recommended Tylenol. A disappointing, troubling experience.
