Beat Kitchen

About this business

A slightly under rated place to have a drink in Roscoe Village, the patrons here belong in the suburbs and act like they are just visiting the city for the night. The food here is a standard mini-pizza and when you are done, you can hoof it to the back room to watch a band play for a small or sometime not so small cover. But check the calendar because this place books every garage band in town. Pared down to its essentials, this is somewhere to go for inconspicuous crowd watching.

I’ve been to a few shows here this year and have had a positive experience each time. Tonight was the first time that I arrived early enough to eat before the show. The Vegan burger is made in house and was fantastic as are the Cajun Potatoes. Will definitely make it a point to arrive early enough to eat from now on. Staff is always friendly and the sound during the shows is good.

I love the venue but last night we had the worst experience ordering food. Our sever was carrie. we had 5 people eating. two of us didn't get what we ordered and one of us didn't get our food until everyone else was done eating. we had to remind her multiple times for our food and the drinks we tried to order. she seems frazzled the entire night and they weren't even busy. I'll come back for more shows but I definitely wont eat here again. worst $150 I ever spent!! terrible service although the food tasted good.
