Delicious in every way
I’ve always loved coming here. Whenever I’m close I get a variety of flavors. 2pm 1/20/26 worst cream puffs I’ve ever had. Some puffs were burnt/extra crunchy and flat. Not round like they normally are. They were all barely filled with cream. Not sure if they changed the recipe or the way they make them or if it was an error. Either way I’m hesitant to go back.
I’ve read a lot of people complaining that the pastries here are stale, but I think this is because many people are more familiar with store-bought frozen cream puffs that become soggy when thawed. Beard Papa’s cream puffs are made to order so they aren’t filled with cream until you walk in, which allows the choux pastry to stay crispy—something that’s actually more desirable and ideal for quality cream puffs.
