We had a wonderful stay at Bear Necessities Cottages in Seward! The cottage was clean, cozy, and comfortable, and it was a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring the beautiful Seward area. We loved the peaceful setting and the cozy atmosphere. Everything we needed was provided, and the cottage felt like a comfortable home away from home. My wife and I spent two nights in the Bear Cave at Bear Necessities and had a wonderful stay. It’s tucked into the trees and has a warm, comfortable atmosphere that fits the Alaska setting perfectly. We loved coming back after a day around Seward and having our own quiet spot among the woods. It gave us a chance to slow down, unplug, and enjoy where we were. For anyone looking for a cabin near Seward that feels private and surrounded by nature, the Bear Cave is a great choice. We’d happily stay here again.
We reserved this place, A Chalet, for June 13, through June 15, 2026 back in the fall of 2025. April 7, 2026 we were notified that our reservation was changed to a "Dry Cabin " with no running water and no refrigerator, microwave, and a loft bed. We told them that we could not be staying in that room and it wasn't what we reserved. A few hours later we received an email from Bear Necessities that they had a Chalet to lease for $300 more. Oh my! What a beautiful little cottage! We just got married july 11th, so honeymoon in alaska! And what a beautiful little cottage we stayed in, had a little kitchen, bathroom with walk in shower. And It was only like 5min drive to seward. Drove down the road it was on and also few others and just beautiful spot and just no complaints at all! Recommend staying here!
