I cannot recommend Melissa Bean if you are looking for a strong advocate in a contested divorce. Throughout my case, I repeatedly raised concerns about financial disclosures, discovery issues, child-related matters, and post-decree enforcement, but I did not feel those concerns were pursued with the diligence they deserved. Melissa and Liberty’s work on my case was outstanding. They always had my daughter’s and my best interests at heart. I felt that Melissa was consistently one step ahead of opposing counsel throughout the case and was better prepared during mediation. My case was resolved in mediation, and I felt the outcome was equitable. Both Melissa and Liberty were quick to answer any questions I had along the way. I cannot recommend Bean Family Law enough.
I was referred to Melissa, by an attorney that only takes cases that have a reasonable chance of settling. Melissa and Liberty have fought for my son and I through an incredibly challenging 5 year divorce process - finally yesterday getting to a settlement at the judicial settlement conference. I don’t like to write negative reviews, I just think it’s fair for other people to hear my experience. Melissa came highly recommended and I had big hopes when I met her. However, she didn’t disclose she was taking leave (for months) until after I had paid the retainer. During mediation she was on her phone for the most part, and agreed to pretty much all my ex’s demands. More concerned about “her reputation” than what was best for me and my children.
