We spent a partial week on Great Cranberry. Very nice captain and crew. Beautiful boat ride to Islesford. (How can it not be???) Also used this ferry to bring our (way too much) luggage from and back to Northeast Harbor. They were VERY helpful!
This is the best day trip to take on the ferry. We were able to visit both islands, tour the museum. Hike to a pool cove and beer and food on both islands. Mailboat captain and first mate were great!
The experience was butter. The captain and deckhand were quite funny, we had a great chat with them. The ride offers great views of Acadia and MDI and the deckhand we had knew the name of all the mountains. The islands were great to walk around and explore. If we had planned ahead we would’ve reserved a table at islesford dock restaurant (IDR) and taken the last boat out and night boat back with B&B. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to visit the islands or even just go for a nice boat ride!
Excellent lobster pound, right on the harbor. Great food and great service!
Our family used the ferry service to GCI and had a wonderful experience. We had young kids with us (which can be chaotic) and the staff was nothing but kind and attentive to us. Some of our crew rented bikes and brought them along with them to ride on GCI and really enjoyed it. The staff on the ferry helped them load their bikes each time and was very courteous.
