Was really cute and charming had a great stay!
The Beacon Inn is a gem! A purpose built inn that looks antique on the outside but has all the modern conveniences on the inside. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the kindness of the staff. Walking distance to all the sights in charming Sidney. A special thanks to Brian and the team for returning some personal belongings my husband left behind, which involved extra hoops, due to the ridiculous tariff situation. So sorry! Absolutely do not stay here! We (myself and spouse) booked for ONE night as we were leaving the island to move cross country and figured we'd save on drive time to the 6am ferry early in the morning as you have to be there am hour early. They said said they had one room left so we took it. Confirmed with the reservation desk twice before showing up which we also made clear we would be arriving after 8pm as we were dealing with movers. Travelling across Canada we departed Victoria and booked a single night here to ensure we could make our BC ferry to the mainland at 6am. Despite this we were charged for two nights, in spite of returning our key after the one night we had ordered. Upon contacting the hotel, to find out why we were charged 670 dollars for a single night we were told basically "too bad" because their complete lack of overnight staff ensured that we had no way of knowing that they had erred and booked us for two nights. 670 for a single night ... read more
