avoid – If you are referred for alcohol counseling for any reason (DUI, DWAI, court order etc.) DO NOT go to Beacon. They will dig their claws into you and NEVER let go. If you have good health insurance---they will drink that teet until it is bone dry. BEWARE. Now I understand they could be helpful for a serious problem drinker---but if given a choice, seek other options in my opinion. Their 'initial' evaluation requires '3-4 visits'...I don't think I've ever been pursued so hard by a 'social' program in my life!
