We rented their Jessea property the first week of June 2025. The house is in a nice area, but it really needs work and was a big safety issue for our group as we had multiple children, 7 and under staying there. First no one can walk on the deck without some type of foot wear on as the first day multiple people in group got splinters from the deck including the children. Business response:
At no point in our stay was repairs made, a technician came out once and no came back after. That statement is flat out false. Also those missing pickets showed in the pictures a small child could have easily fell through which we had. Again I stand by my statement the deck was ****** and owner nor property manager took the proper steps to ensure safety.
My family & I had reservations in October for a week of fishing. My husband passed away & we canceled. We purchased travel insurance & have been given the run around. Beach Realty has done nothing to help us. We've been waiting since end of September for a refund. Beware!!
Beach realty called me three days before my scheduled trip to the Outer Banks after renting an almost $9000 home that was completely paid for and told me the house did not pass inspection and therefore we could not stay there. The resolution to this problem from Beach Realty was to offer two more properties that were not adequate and looked horrible. Or to pay more money. Or to change the dates of my trip. This is the dirtiest place we have stayed at. We rented Carotank Clubhouse from Beach Realty. Here's a list of things wrong: 1. Very bad mold smell in house. 2. Jacuzzi tub was selling point for us, wasn't usable. 3. Refrigerators and freezers dirty. 4. Ice makers didn't work. Called the office the day we got there (Saturday). Girl had an attitude. Our major concern was lack of communication and deception regarding our Beach Realty July 2-9th rental in Southern ****** (or so we hoped.) We reserved a home under renovation. According to the website, renovation would be completed in May 2022. Prior to our rental, we spoke to a reservationist who assured us reno would be complete in May or agency would find us equivalent. To Whom it May Concern, Mr. ******** did in fact reach out to our office via phone on multiple occasions prior to their intended July 2 arrival. At the times of those phone calls placed by Mr. ********* the home was going to be ready for their occupancy, there was no indication to think otherwise, all was moving as planned. Beach Realty refused to provide any assistance when we could not access our rental due to road closure by Dare County. They told us they would have to contact the property owner for consent to release the rental and it could take up to 3 days for a response. When we pressed them for a more prompt reply, we received a response within an hour stating they and the property owner would not provide a refund and we should pursue a claim under travel insurance (no loss to them). Very Disgusted! House had roaches outside and inside and the agency acted as if it was " normal" because only one live american cockroach was in the house!!! Absolutely disgusting. Would not reimburse us money, would not offer another property!! When we alerted the agency about the live roach in the outside linen room, they did not send exterminator until the next day until I called again. Extermination was poor as there was still a live one in house. Will never rent through them again! I would advise everyone stay away!!
Called to let us know 2 weeks (TWO WEEKS!!) before our vacation that the house we had rented would not be available. We realize that this is the homeowners fault, however, when booking another house that would accommodate our group, we were forced to pay a fee when any decent realty company would have paid it for us. Will never go through them again. And if you're thinking about renting "***************" in Nags Head- don't, they are who canceled our vacation 2 weeks before.
