People really need to stop saying “just go get therapy” like it’s some universally accessible cure-all. I went to BCSMSSA because it was one of the only places offering affordable therapy while accepting patients after being bounced around. I opened up more there than I ever have about my experiences. At first it helped just having someone to talk to, until my therapist repeatedly began suggesting my issues might actually be caused by gluten intolerance, shared anti-vaccine opinions about autism, and even suggested my medica... read more
Very grateful for this agency. Working with the therapist there has been life changing for me.
Honestly I had the best experiences here. Its such a stigmatized and "not as talked about" topics and this was one of the only services available for men who are survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault. I felt safe and people understood what I had gone through and provided amazing help. Truly life-changing therapy services. Mason helped me work through a lot of my trauma and I now feel back on my feet again and able to move forward in my life.
